Points Buy system or dice rolls for stats.

Roll all numbers then assign to stats.  One Re-roll allowed.

25,000 XP for Character (Remember 13,000 of this comes pre-spent just by being a Marine)
    30 Renown

No Limit on specialties or advanced specialties.

IMPORTANT:  IF you want to do something not in the books, make a post here about it, and we can work out rules for it, such as Centurion Armor.

There is a chart at the beginning of chapter 2 i believe, but that much xp gives you enough to JUST barely be into Rank 4. Be advised you must spend enough xp on each rank to reach the next threshold. For example, you need to spend a total of 4000 xp on rank 1 advances before you can buy rank 2 advances.

    Concern / Question:
is the Starting Talent: Ambidextrous equate to the Ambidextrous located on page 113 Core book. I wanted to take the Two-Weapon talent and I was reading up on how to use it, it stresses that I suffer a -20 to hit with my "off hand" unless I have pair Ambidexterity with the Two-Weapon talent in which then I only suffer a -10. I am confused as to why the book stresses so much why I need a talent I already have, unless I don't have "True Ambidexterity" (If that's the case, where in the Core book is that talent located for purchase with EXP).

You do have true ambidextrous. It stresses this because deathwatch is actually just one core of a multi-core set, most of which deal in human characters that do NOT start with ambidextrous, thus it specifies.

Can anyone elaborate on the Power Armor 'AP'? Also, the Forum's character sheet (On the stats portion) has "score","Bonus", and "Advances", I need a bit more information on that as well please.

*Figured out the Bonus is probably from power armor?

Ap is usually in the format of 8/11 or some such. This means that the ap of the body is 11, and 8 everywhere else.

Your stats score is your basic stat which is calculated with 30 + either the points you spend or value you rolled depending on which type of character generation you used.

Bonuses are applied through various means, for example tour power armor grants you a +20 strength bonus.

Advances are to keep track of how many times you have spent xp to raise a stat, which you can do 5 times.

Does that mean I can only raise a maximum of 5 times, for all 9 stats, or is it 5 times per stat?

*I have scanned the book again for any reference and haven't seen any mention of limitations, the only thing that looks like a cap is the "expert" category (Reference page 57 Core Book)

Each stat can be upgraded 5 times. The cost of which is determined by your class.

So I was looking at your character sheet captain and I noticed you spent a LOT on advances. And while I'm not here to tell you how to make your character I wouldn't suggest spending that many points in stats. Especially on a character like yours. Skills and traits will go much further. Medicae (or however you spell that) in perticular is one you will want to max out.

I have been thinking about that. Considering this is my first time playing anything in the realm of WH or Deathwatch I've been a little tentative about my character. I appreciate your input and I do apologize for my turtle-esque pace.

Update: I remember as to why I do not have maxed Medicae. It is technically impossible, with the 25,000 Exp awarded to build my character and having picked assault (because it is impossible to be space wolf and apothecary). I was able to Rank my character up to Rank 4. Just barely high enough to achieve Wolf Priest.

What I am trying to say: Medicae is only obtainable after I have Wolf Priest status, I obtain Basic Medicae for being a Wolf Priest but have 0 EXP to spend on Rank 4 ablities (which includes Wolf Priest talents / skills).

I suggest only really upgrading fellowship, intelligence, and toughness right now. Seeing as you are a secondary fighter but a primary support. That being said you are an assault marine base so weapon skill is always nice.

So, we're using standard requisition rules for non-signature wargear?
