Whispers in the Machine.

"Pelious, are you coming with us? We could use your assistance."

"As I said. Lead the way. You are the leader of your squad are you not? Pick a path so that we may proceed."

(I missed this whole page. Sooooo ignoring that derp moment...) "Allright Squad, roll out. We're headed to andre's charging station."

"Squad, I think  we should take a longer route. I believe we may find some clues in the barracks or med bay and would rather avoid such obvious kill boxes."

Pelious nods. "Very well. Lead the way, I shall cover the rear."

(I didn't even catch that actually. Yah a captain is the leader of a company, a company is made up of 10 squads of 10 marines each led by a sargent. A chapter master is well the leader of the chapter which is made up of 10 companies. And if I remember correctly the librarians, chaplains, tech marines and apothecaries are all their own groups within the chapter. So a fully maned {which never happens} chapter has 1000 marines plus command and support marines. And I guess all the servitors but those don't count. And typically the 10th company is the scout/recruit company and the 1st company is made up of terminators and other veterans. All termi's are vets but not all vets are termi's. Ok lore dump over.)

(Yeah, you're right about the specialist marines being separate, additionally Dreadnoughts are separate.)

As the squad begins to arrange themselves, a blurt of mechanized noise flares across the vox-channels.
Optics shudder, sensors flicker, and energy conduits thrum irregularly for the brief duration of the haunting tone.

"Interesting. Brother Valen, did you understand that by chance? It sounded like something I've heard the Tech-priests make. If not, I can radio back to the armory and ask one of the priests there."

(The order was unofficially decided over text so for the purpose of documentation and setting it officially the order is Varrsuvius, Valen, Damien, Kahvados, Pelious.
I completely forgot about dreads. I think I was just lumping them with the vehicles in my head.)

Valen tilts his head a moment, "It seems to be mechano-speak of some kind but it does not seem to be a message...I will need to hear more." As he says this another burst of squealing mechanical noise blurts over the vox, this one holds a atrange echoing cadence as the lights flicker and sensors fritz

Pelious looks down at his centurion armor, "Interesting." Turning to Damien, "Squad leader, that noise is wreaking havoc with my suit. In its duration it locked my joints and it powered on my weapons. I highly recommend evacuating this hallways as quickly as possible, else I cannot guarantee the safety of the Dreadnought's lightly armored back that's in front of me. However that could lead to us charging into an ambush." Pelious tilts his head in thought, "I could also walk backwards I suppose, that way if my weapons discharge they'll fire down the hallway rather than into the Wolf. But I would be significantly less prepared were we to run into hostiles."

"Valen, see what you can do to fix Pelious's suit. The rest of you come with me, we don't want to be near here if his weapons can be slaved by this unknown voice. And Valen... if he does lose control, don't hesitate to put a melta blast through his chest."

(I say the rest of you like it's more than two guys.)

Valen looks at Damien, "I do not even know where to start Squad Leader, this work is beyond me. Though I doubt he will loose full control, Centurion suits are not capable of self-initiated movement, only enhancing or inhibiting movement that is already occurring."

"Well in that case, Pelious, could you just turn around and walk backwards then. Valen stay back there for now and make sure that if he does get locked up that he's not defenseless."

Pelious shoots an angry glare at Damien, then slowly turns around and follows the squad backwards. He says to Valen, "The Centurion suit does come off. He knows that right? You DO know that right?" The last question is pointedly spoken to Damien.

After doddering forwards for a while, the discordant tones recur. A melody is noticeable but still indistinct and choppy.
The emergency lighting, dim as it is by the Omnissiah's design, fades gently for a moment before returning to its previous, gloriously energy efficient levels.
